The childhood of Pickler was not a smooth one. She was abandoned by her mother when she was just two in order to get out of the abuse of her partner. Pickler returned to her mother in 1995 when she was appointed the custodian. But things did not turn around as planned. So when she was 12 the court gave back Pickler to her parents - whom she grew up with. Pickler needed to look after of her siblings without her parents.
